WHO WE ARE
Time to Level the Playing Field was founded in 2019 by Jackie Spigener.
As a student in the Pasadena Independent School District, Jackie was involved in band programs from junior high through high school. She held first chair in symphonic band, competed and placed in District, Region and Area bands and was selected first female drum major at South Houston High School. Jackie continued with music into college and taught private music lessons for a number of years.
After a visit to a local high school, Jackie was reminded of the positive effect music played in her life and wanted these same opportunities extended to current band students.
Time to Level the Playing Field is a non-profit foundation that provides band instruments or private music lessons to students in Pasadena Independent School.
How We Make
Providing New Instruments to local junior high and high school students who are dedicated to their passion for music.
With a brand new instrument, they can continue to be successful in their music education.
Private instruction can often be the deciding factor in a music student's longevity. Providing Private instruction to students who otherwise would not be able to afford the opportunity helps break the barrier for these student's continued progress beyond grade school.
Time to Level the Playing Field strives to give back to the community in multiple ways. Our main fundraiser is Hometown Holidays & Trail of Lights, but we also have local performances & are always looking for new and creative ways to help the local community.
In order to put on our biggest fundraiser of the year, we need donations from businesses or individuals.
